Another year has passed and I’m officially in my 40s. HOW DID I GET HERE? Is this what being an adult is like?
Every year, I do two things for my birthday. Leave the city to start the new year stress-free as I believe it sets the tone for the whole year, and make a list of things I want to accomplish for the year.
As I was putting together my list last night, I felt much more calm than I ever have before. So much has changed in terms of attitude in this last year. What seemed so prominent in my 30s have simply melted away in terms of importance now. Maybe that’s what they mean when they say to wait and that the 40s really are better than the 30s? Cause I think I get it!
Here’s a few things from my list:
- Grow (back) the design side of my business with more small business clients
- Become more aware of what I put in my body and learning more about growing and preserving my own food.
- Shoot in the studio more
- Travel more (I want to see 2 new places this year)
- Build the “my kind of people” initiative and get minimum 50 stores to display my everyone is welcome clings on their doors
- Find a way to help more dogs get the life they deserve
- sing more and somehow perform again
- learn to intentionally “take back the day” (and do something little that I love every day) when life gets busy because everyday should count and be a happy one
Oh! And finally…
- Donate all the pants that I promised myself I would fit into again… it’s time 😂😂😂😂
This year will be about gaining more experiences with my dogs (and my ♥️) rather than worrying about gaining more followers. It will be about taking in this silly thing called life and becoming more aware of the life I want vs the life society tends to give. HAVING FUN AND BEING MYSELF. And most importantly, It will [continue] to be more about want to’s vs less about have to’s
Life is so so short. Every day deserves to be remembered.
